Maintenance (Municipal Streets & Parks)
Qualified workers needed for Parks Division & Streets Division of local municipality. Full-time/Temporary (6 mths) positions. Duties include: Parks positions - maintaining park facilities/grounds, street trees, & median landscape; Streets positions – patching/paving streets, repairing sidewalks, & pouring concrete. Required qualifications: Knowledge of maintenance principles, practices, tools, & materials for maintaining/repairing assigned systems & facilities; Effective basic record keeping skills; Understanding of safe work methods; Able to use & perform minor maintenance on variety of hand & power tools, vehicles, & power equipment; systems of lighting controls, plumbing repair and installation; Understands safety equipment & practices related to work, including handling of hazardous chemicals; Basic math skills; Can perform semi-skilled construction, modification, maintenance, & repair work on assigned systems, facilities, & equipment; Able to operate variety of tools, light equipment, & vehicles; Can perform heavy labor; Able to understand & follow oral or written directions; Can establish effective working relationships; Knows how to troubleshoot maintenance problems; Able to determine materials & supplies required for repair; Can skillfully & safely use tools & equipment related to work; Able to read & interpret construction drawings & specifications when applicable; Can maintain accurate logs & basic written records of work performed. Temporary assignments expected to begin in early May 2018 (schedule expected to be Mon-Fri/7:30am-3:30pm). Wage: DOE. (#8.0425.101 – Paso Robles)
