SAN LUIS OBISPO, CALIFORNIA (December 9, 2008) -
The San Luis Obispo-based Human Resources Association (HRACC) celebrated over 30 years & installed their new Board of Directors at a party on Tuesday.

Outgoing President, Mary Alpaugh, Accounts Manager for United Staffing Associates, presented the non-violent gavel to the president-elect, Betsey Nash, SPHR, HR Consultant for United Staffing Associates. Other in-coming Board members include Rhonda Hunter, HRM of Dioptics, Dave Mulder, HRM of San Luis Paper Co, Lisa Ferson-Zavala, HR Director of Goetz Manderley, and Mark Montanez of United Staffing Associates.

The HRACC was formed as the San Luis Obispo Personnel Association in the early 70's by Mary Moses & others, to provide a networking and professional resource for those responsible for the human resources of their firms. It was a time when the employer-employee relationship was changing & laws governing that relationship were re-defining the profession.

In-coming president, Betsey Nash, with over 20 years management & HR experience & national certification as a senior human resources professional, has a long record of community involvement, as well. Nash currently serves as a Director for the San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce, guest lecturer at Cal Poly, & an active Rotarian. She recently merged her HR Consulting firm, Nash HR Services with United Staffing Associates. In addition to collecting toys for tots & donating to the Salvation Army, members were entertained by the magic of Rich Ferguson & the singing of "Suzie & the Terminators," better known as attorney Susan Waag, United Staffing Associates Branch Manager, Debbie Wheeler, & Nash. Songs included "Generation Y's Lament" (sung to the tune of Leslie Gore's "You Don't Own Me").

The HRACC provides educational programs, scholarships, & a forum to seek solutions to challenging personnel problems with other HR professionals who face similar issues. For more information, contact Mark Montanez, at 805/269-2677 or www.hracc.net
