Duties include: Assembling & testing measuring & analytical equipment used in mining exploration industry; Assembling & reworking circuit board assemblies; Assembling & fitting small to moderate sized electro-mechanical assemblies; Testing & validating performance of components & completed assemblies; Completing new electronic assemblies by following established procedures; Modifying existing PCB assemblies by removing, adding, &/or replacing circuit board components, in accordance with written or verbal instructions; Completing new mechanical assemblies by following established procedures; Building electronic, mechanical, &/or electrical assemblies per engineering drawings, work instructions, schematics, written & verbal instructions; Performing testing of materials at component, sub-assembly, & complete assembly levels by following established procedures; Operating oscilloscopes, function generator, various meters, power supplies, service monitors & test fixtures, PC’s, & understanding their use & function. Required qualifications: Exp. using DVM, oscilloscopes, PC’s, function generator, power supplies, & hand tools; Exp. with moderate mechanical repairs & modifications; Able to exercise judgment within defined procedures & practices to determine appropriate action; Able to lift 30-40 lbs.; Excellent soldering & rework skills (surface mount & through hole). IPC J-STD-001 training &/or certification in soldering preferred; Advanced training in electronic theory received at technical trade school, military training, or Associate Degree Program preferred. Exp. with gyros & accelerometers is helpful. Exp. with Quality Control charts, data collection, & programs is helpful. Wage: $23.00 hr. (#4.0111.106 – San Luis Obispo)
