Will be responsible for developing, implementing, & maintaining safety programs & policies to ensure compliance with local, state, & federal regulations. This role involves conducting regular safety inspections, investigating incidents, & providing training to employees on safety procedures as well as collaborating with management to identify potential hazards, recommending corrective actions, & continuously improving organization's safety protocols to promote safe & healthy work environment. Duties include: Assisting in developing & enforcing safety policies & procedures in compliance with regulations; Conducting regular safety audits, inspections, & risk assessments; Taking lead in investigating workplace accidents & near misses & recommending corrective actions/preventive measures under direction of Safety Manager; Providing safety trainings & assisting in program roll outs, safety updates, & changes to procedures; Maintaining & updating safety records & documentation; Collaborating with management & teams to identify potential hazards & implement safety improvements; Ensuring proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) & other safety measures; Stay updated on new safety regulations & industry best practices; Conducting new hire training; Providing safety training to employees on various topics including, but not limited to, hazard recognition, PPE, & emergency response; Performing & documenting jobsite inspections & audits with focus on hazard recognition & unsafe behaviors; Coordinating & conducting safety meetings/training programs to ensure effective communication amongst new & existing employees; Participating in regulatory agency inspections & investigations to ensure compliance with federal & state regulations; Maintaining records of safety training & incidents; Collaborating with management to address safety concerns & making recommendations for improvement; Monitoring compliance of safety programs through audits, inspections, spot checks, & regular plant walk-throughs; Inspecting equipment, working conditions, & maintaining OSHA files & supporting documents; Performing other duties as assigned. Required qualifications: Strong knowledge of OSHA & other safety regulations; Knowledge of safety principles & best practices in warehouse; Well-developed attention-to-detail; Possess ability to work in fast-paced environment under pressure; Effective communication skills; Team-oriented, service-focused attitude; Flexibility in duties & assignments; Ability to work in wet & cold environments; Able to regularly move &/or lift or carry up to 50 lbs.; Able to stand, stoop, lean, lift, & squat; Ability to work overtime; Able to work long hours during peak period. Spanish Bilingual is a plus (read, write, & speak). Work schedule: Normal business hours during start of position (during training) from 8:00am-5:30pm (1st shift). After training, will transition to 2nd shift from 2:30opm- maybe 1:00am (normally work shift will be 2nd shift but hours may slightly change, will be discussed in interview).
