Need accomplished individual to perform variety of responsibilities ranging from Workers' Compensation claim intake to hands-on hazard evaluations. This opportunity is an internal position with our firm. Duties include: Facilitating claim intakes for Workers’ Compensation injuries & illnesses (to include initial claim form completion, accident investigations, frequent communication with Occupational Medicine physicians, transportation of injured workers (when feasible & safe), liaison with OSHA investigators (with management approval), frequent communication with Claims Administrator, post-accident drug testing (as outlined in company policies), participation at depositions, WCAB appearances, etc.); Performing periodic site evaluations for all new clients & quarterly re-evaluations; Facilitating onsite training for temporary workforce & follow-up consultations as necessary, including safety training meetings; Conducting periodic worksite audits to ensure compliance with client’s & USA’s IIPP; Managing Modified Work Program at field-level; Performing job function analysis with client to determine if modified duty is available; Performing safety related arrival calls for large client orders, ensuring employees are set up on time clocks, issued proper PPE & footwear; Performing customer service check-ins with clients; Delivering promotional items & performing inquiries to support excellent customer service; Assisting with coordination of Employee Appreciation events; Troubleshooting TempWorks & Infinitime clock setups & clock failures; Maintaining responsibility for PPE inventory; Maintaining supply, organizing & tracking all PPE (issued or owned by USA); Devoting significant portion of your time (more than 50%) to independent assessment of safety processes at client sites; Providing frequent coaching to temporary workers regarding safety practices; Enforcing policies & procedures by issuing on-the-spot discipline & other corrective action. Required qualifications: Min. 3 yrs practical exp. in risk management/health & safety specifically in environment that handles food processing/handling, warehouse or distribution facilities, knowledge about high hazard equipment & materials, OR min. 1 yr. working as Risk Manager in Agriculture industry, AND Occupational Health & Safety Training certification, Ergonomics certification, &/or Associate’s degree in field related to Agriculture, Health & Safety, or other related field(s); Possess & maintain valid CA driver’s license; Good driving record that meets requirements for insurability under company’s policy; Possess understanding of basic medical terms & knowledge of information & techniques needed to diagnose & treat human injuries, diseases, & deformities; Possess solid understanding of CA Workers’ Compensation laws & assist with adherence to any such laws; Possess ability to multitask, develop specific goals, & organize work & prioritize tasks in order to accomplish goals; Maintain flexibility & responsiveness to client & company needs & demonstrate attention-to-detail & follow-through; Knowledge of structure & content of English language; Ability to communicate clearly & effectively in verbal & written form; Intermediate understanding of technology utilized by company; Proficiency in computers, including MS Office software; Knowledge of administrative & clerical procedures & systems such as use of tablet or iPad, managing files & records, designing forms, & other office procedures & terminology; Able to quickly gain understanding of relationship of all company positions to each other & their impact on meeting company goals; Ability to work with others in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment, functioning as team member; Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills; Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one & small group situations to customers, clients, & other employees of organization; Ability to read & comprehend instructions, short correspondence, & memos; Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions; Readily apply independent discretion & judgment in all situations; Ability to function autonomously with limited supervision. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus. Position is based in Porterville & often supports Lindsay branch team when needed & requires availability during business hours of branch & its clients (including periodic late night injury assistance), weekends, holidays, & periodic overnight stays & other nonstandard hours as need arises.
