Duties include: Providing assistance & information to customers by explaining policies, billing procedures, rates, & fees; Processing bills; Balancing & recording payments; Preparing & recording adjustments, service requests, & change orders; Processing meter reads & preparing proofs; Adjusting bills; Preparing reports, forms, receipts, work orders, & other documents as needed for utility billing; Preparing financial & statistical reports pertaining to billing; Composing standard correspondence such as transmittal letters from prior materials or new instructions; Proofreading materials for accuracy & compliance with policies in full with correct spelling & punctuation; Entering, editing, updating, & retrieving data from reports & spreadsheets; Preparing periodic reports; Creating new forms or spreadsheets for capturing data; Establishing & maintaining financial & administrative files in established records management system; Compiling & purging files from records system; Processing mail pertaining to billing & payments; Completing data entry to record statistical & financial records & logs; Verifying files & financial data. Required qualifications: High school diploma/equivalent; 2 yrs related exp.; Recent exp. with automated billing systems; Intermediate skills with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); Basic accounting principles & practices; Comfortable with record keeping methods & meeting deadlines; Excellent ability to communicate; Understand principles of mathematics; Ability to type at net speed 45 WPM. Bilingual is a plus but not required. Wage: $23.00 hr. (#4.0201.106 – San Luis Obispo)
