12-Volt Radio Installation Technician

United Staffing Associates has been engaged by a specialty vehicle upfitting company in Perris, California, to identify an experienced 12-Volt Radio Installation Technician to install and maintain vehicular communication and warning-light systems for emergency response, fire and rescue, law enforcement, and specialty command vehicles.
The company specializes in the custom installation and maintenance of public safety vehicle electronics, including communication systems from manufacturers such as Motorola, Kenwood, and BK Technologies, as well as warning-light systems from Code 3, Whelen, and Federal Signal. This position is ideal for a technician with hands-on experience in 12-volt electrical systems, mobile electronics, or public-safety vehicle equipment who takes pride in precise, high-quality installation work.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, service, and maintain 12-volt vehicular communication and warning-light systems on public safety and specialty vehicles.
- Install mobile two-way radio equipment, including systems from manufacturers such as Motorola, Kenwood, and BK Technologies.
- Install emergency warning-light systems, including equipment from Code 3, Whelen, and Federal Signal.
- Perform wiring, mounting, routing, and connection of vehicle electronic components while maintaining clean, professional installation standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving 12-volt electrical, communication, and warning-light systems.
- Safely enter, exit, and work in and around automobiles and commercial vehicles.
- Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and internal personnel regarding installation requirements, service needs, and completed work.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1–2 years of hands-on experience working with 12-volt automotive electrical systems.
- Experience installing automotive electronics such as stereo components, alarm systems, hands-free cellular equipment, or similar aftermarket vehicle accessories.
- Experience installing mobile two-way radio equipment is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with automotive wiring, electrical connections, component mounting, and basic troubleshooting.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional demeanor when interacting with customers and internal team members.
- Ability to physically enter, exit, and work inside automobiles and commercial vehicles.
- Ability to work a regular Monday–Friday schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Pay Rate: $35/hour
