Citrus Sizer Operator

This role is responsible for operating a new, state-of-the-art computerized sizer/grader line to ensure production meets grade standards, fruit is directed to the appropriate outlets, & grower returns are maximized. The operator will monitor process results both at the machine & on the pack floor, using available tools, knowledge, & observations to support consistent quality & efficient production. This position is also responsible for proper equipment setup, safe operation, & maintaining a smooth workflow throughout the grading process. Duties include: Preforming pre-operational inspection, calibrations, & checklist prior to starting production; Setting up pack line, according to Plant Manager run plan & pack plan; Communicating daily status & goals with production team; Communicating with Plant Manager, pack floor supervisor, QC, & grade supervisor to set good start time, start speed, & maintain consistent pack style & grade, to accomplish shift goals & eliminate any downtime; Managing equipment; Maximizing efficiency & grade accuracy; Coordinating with maintenance team, mechanics, & service providers to maintain equipment clean & in good operating condition; Coordinating & communicating with PLU Sticker Operator, to ensure right PLU Labels are applied to fruit; Supervising electronic grading process; Maintaining safe & clean work environment; Maintaining established company policies, procedures, & SOP; Maintaining regularly, thoroughly, & properly: Solenoids checked & replaced as needed, carriers cleaned & replaced as needed, camera cabinet cleaned & in good condition, computer cabinet cleaned & in good condition; Following food safety regulations. Required qualifications: Electronic sorting system knowledge; Bilingual English/Spanish; Computer knowledge; Team player; Ability to work under pressure & produce results in fast-paced environment; Reliable & responsible; Good punctuality & attendance; Available to work day or night shift & weekends; Basic math, reading, & analytical skills to maintain accurate logs & records. 8-hr. shift minimum.
