Harvest Cellar Worker
United Staffing Associates is recruiting for a seasonal Harvest Cellar Worker to join a respected winery during one of the busiest and most exciting times of the year. The position will start approximately mid-September through November. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in commercial winemaking. You'll work alongside an experienced production team and rotate through multiple areas of the cellar to learn every stage of the harvest process.
Duties:
As part of the harvest team, you'll assist with a variety of winery production activities, including:
• Cleaning and sanitizing winery equipment and production areas
• Receiving, sorting, crushing, and pressing grapes
• Managing fermentations through pump-overs, punch-downs, and other cellar techniques
• Preparing and making wine additions as directed
• Operating presses and assisting with juice and wine movement
• Cleaning, filling, topping, and maintaining barrels
• Setting up and maintaining production equipment
• Performing wine and juice transfers between tanks and barrels
• Collecting samples for quality control and laboratory analysis
• Supporting the cellar team with additional harvest duties as needed
Qualifications
• Ability to work a demanding harvest schedule, including overtime and weekends (typically 40–60 hours per week)
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds regularly
• Comfortable performing repetitive physical tasks, including bending, climbing stairs, and standing for extended periods
• Able to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Willing to work in confined spaces while following all safety procedures
• Valid driver's license and dependable transportation
• Previous winery experience or wine industry education preferred
• Forklift experience is a plus
Schedule:
Up to 6 days a week; Shifts starting as early as 6am; overtime may be required
