Accounting & Finance Manager

We’re looking for a motivated, roll-up-your-sleeves Accounting & Finance Manager for a growing business in North San Luis Obispo County. This position is ideal for someone with very strong knowledge of accounting principles at the CPA level or on the path toward CPA licensure who enjoys being hands-on with all aspects of accounting & finance, from day-to-day operations to strategic oversight. The environment is collaborative, forward-thinking, & process driven. With fewer than 50 employees, they value people who take initiative, look for better ways to do things, & aren’t afraid to dive in wherever needed. Duties include: Overseeing AP/AR, payroll, general ledger, & financial reporting; Managing month-end close, financial statement preparation, & GAAP compliance; Participating in audits, consolidations, & financial statement reviews; Supporting tax filings, bonding requirements, & budget/forecast preparation; Evaluating & improving accounting systems & processes for efficiency & accuracy; Collaborating cross-functionally with leadership & project teams to drive financial transparency & decision-making. Required qualifications: 5+ yrs progressive accounting exp., ideally within small to midsized organization; Thorough understanding of GAAP & exp. with audits & consolidations; Tech-savvy & enthusiastic about system improvements & automation; Hands-on, can-do mindset, willing to tackle any accounting task, big or small; Collaborative, open to new ideas, & not “stuck in old ways.” CPA or on the path to CPA (strongly preferred).
