Needed in Lindsay, CA. May work any shift. Duties include: Testing inbound tankers, outbound tankers, & batches for all analytical tests; Filling in for Fresh Fruit Technicians during absences & days off; Reporting to QA/QC Laboratory Manager; Performing routine analytical tests per specification (citric acid, brix, ratio, pulp, defects, color, & sensory); Calibrating all laboratory equipment at beginning of each shift; Ensuring proper use & care of analytical instruments & equipment; Pulling samples from product lines, tanks, & silos as directed; Performing audit of process during production run; Performing pre-operational audits as required, including Charm swabs; Verifying product quality & integrity by checking production line during filling of each lot (looking specifically at package & case integrity, label & code date accuracy, weights, temperatures, & tray/screen inspections for any signs of foreign material); Taking aseptic samples from Tankers for microbiological testing & evaluating Tankers for cleanliness; Performing HACCP monitoring activities including filter checks, metal detector monitoring, magnet checks, & allergen verifications by production line requirements; Monitoring line & equipment for food safety related items such as good manufacturing practices & proper sanitation practices; Properly documenting all data & providing timely/effective communication to production supervisors, management, production employees, & other Quality Assurance Technicians & Supervisors; Reporting non-standard conditions to Lead or Lab Manager immediately; Following all safety rules & practices including wearing of all essential personal protective equipment; Following all personal hygiene & food safety practices; Assisting in training technician as necessary; Assisting in problem solving events to determine root cause & establish preventative measures; Acting professionally towards coworkers, customers, vendors, or other visitors to plant; Demonstrating reliable attendance, consistent punctuality, & positive attitude; Performing lab operations such as clean up, supply inventory, documentation, filing, recordkeeping, & communication between lab, operations, & management personnel; Performing other duties as assigned & required. Required qualifications: Min. 5 yrs exp. in industrial ingredient industry; Pass drug test & background investigation, as necessary for position; Ethical & punctual, fulfilling obligations as promised; Dependable & reliable, following schedule as set; Able to sit, stand, walk, jog, leap, & run on uneven ground, stairs, or elevated structures; Able to potentially stoop, crawl, climb, balance, kneel, & crouch; Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs.; Hand dexterity to use tools, type, & handwrite; Able to reach with hands & arms & perform movements such as pushing, pulling, & hammering; Ability to speak verbally & raise voice when necessary; Ability to hear; Adequate vision to see; Ability to work inside building/structure or outside in direct types of weather (to include: wet conditions such as rain, heat, direct sun exposure, & in rare cases, snow, sleet, & ice).
