Maintenance Technician

Will be responsible for installing, maintaining, & repairing items such as machinery, vehicles, physical structures, pipes, & electrical systems in safe & productive manner. This position is also responsible for supporting production department in creation of goods & services as may be required to service customers when maintenance requirements are up to date. Duties include: Visually inspecting & testing machinery & equipment according to manufacturer’s specifications; Performing maintenance service repairs in areas of machine servicing, plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, electrical, fabrication, & vehicle servicing; Creating, publishing, & performing preventative & predictive maintenance according to published schedule to meet production demand; Establishing critical parts list & approved vendor list; Assisting in implementing 5S program; Cleaning & lubricating shafts, bearing, gears, & other parts of machinery; Dismantling defective machines & equipment & installing new or repaired parts; Installing & repairing electrical apparatuses such as transformers, wiring, & electrical components of machinery equipment; Repairing & maintaining physical structure of establishment; Safely & properly operating cranes, fork trucks, & applying safe rigging; Providing monthly written maintenance reports; Following all safety procedures, including Hazardous Chemicals policies; Ensuring compliance with delivery & specification requirements of customer orders; Adhering to Sunshine Metals’ safety rules, regulations, & quality standards. Required qualifications: High school diploma/equivalent; 2+ yrs warehouse maintenance exp.; Computer skills; Good written & oral communication skills; Proficient reading & math skills; Good organizational, problem solving, & time management skills; Ability to measure using different tools; Ability to effectively multitask; Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction; Equipment & product knowledge; Able to operate with high integrity, maintaining positive relations with coworkers, customers, & suppliers; Strong work ethic; Initiative-taking; Able to sit, stand, use hands or fingers, kneel, crawl, twist, balance, bend, climb, & see with close vision (sharp vision at 36 in. or less); Able to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance &/or lifting device. 4+ yrs warehouse maintenance exp. preferred.
