Needed in Madera, CA. The Production Lead is a member of the plant leadership team & plays a key role in providing management & leadership to deliver business results & operational improvements. This role will be responsible for the day-to-day manufacturing operations for an assigned area & shift. This role has a responsibility to achieve productivity, efficiency, cost, quality, safety, & employment engagement objectives through both individual & team contributions. Duties include: Providing direction, leadership, development, & support to direct reports through teamwork, on-the-job assignments & continuous improvement projects & initiatives; Promoting safety programs & safe work practices through involvement in plant safety teams, programs, & initiatives; Exhibiting effective employee & labor relations; Actively engaging in continuous improvement & other cross-functional initiatives; Communicating daily workflow processes on production floor to Line Leads, ensuring Line Leads understand workflow priorities for day; Directing daily contact with temporary staffing agencies to ensure personnel labor needs are met; Recording & reporting all hours worked for both full-time and temporary staff & assigning weekly schedule including days off; Monitoring productivity of personnel; Handling all aspects of line clearance before & after each changeover; Gathering & reviewing all paperwork turned in from Line Leads regarding overall operation of machine on daily basis; Ensuring overall cleanliness within Sanitation operation; Coordinating daily assignment of all line workers to particular machine & job; Coordinating cross training of all line workers on various job duties; Preparing employee annual performance evaluations in conjunction with input from Line Leads; Coaching & counseling employees & performing disciplinary action as required in conjunction with Supervisor & Manager; Participating in production meetings; Reviewing daily production downtime for material or labor issues; Ensuring safety of all team members & potentially assisting with safety tailgate meetings & various presentations; Reviewing & enforcing company’s food safety, quality, & regulatory standards; Assisting in inventory control, ensuring the amount of inventory is on hand for each project; Assisting in assigning product to particular production line; Working evenings & weekends as required. Performing other duties as assigned. Required qualifications: High school diploma/equivalent; Ability to prioritize & understand special projects; Ability to understand, enforce, & follow company policies & procedures; Familiarity working with temporary staffing agencies; Basic computer skills using MS Office & software applications; Able to read & understand production scheduling; Strong math & troubleshooting skills; Good communication skills, both verbal & written. Prior lead exp. preferred. Prior exp. in fast-paced production environment preferred. Mon-Fri/5:00am-2:30pm (maybe Sat & Sun if needed). Wage: $20.00-$25.00 hr. DOE. (#5.1222.111 – Fresno)
