The San Luis Obispo branch of United Staffing Associates is hiring a Staffing Associate to support our recruiting team. The position requires advanced technical proficiency & verbal & written communication skills in English & offers a rewarding, diverse, & fast-paced career in the workforce solutions industry. Individuals who possess interpersonal skills, ambition, & a desire to support the Recruiters who negotiate & influence, solve problems, & manage relationships in a client-facing role, are urged to apply. Duties include: Reviewing employment applications & job orders to match applicants with job requirements, using computerized file searches; Interviewing job applicants to match qualifications with employers' needs, recording & evaluating applicants' experience, education, training, & skills; Assisting with or requesting reference & background checks on applicants as requested or required by clients; Reaching out to applicants to schedule interviews; Supporting branch payroll reporting efforts which includes regularly interacting with employees & requires excellent time management & proactive skills; Maintaining Affordable Care Act management for branch employees who qualify & accept health insurance; Documenting employee absences & completing Paid Sick Leave documents including COVID-19 tracking & reporting to HR; Assisting & supporting recruitment team by assigning second intake documents & disbursing job offers; Assigning Sexual Harassment Prevention Training to workforce, running reports, & maintaining tracking of completion; Making customer service calls to clients to deliver important details pertaining to placements; Communicating client issues to Branch Manager for instructions on handling or response; Assisting with preparation of job orders from client interviews in accordance with protocol; Performing searches for qualified candidates according to relevant job criteria, using computer databases, networking, Internet recruiting resources, cold calls, media, recruiting firms, & employee referrals; Arranging client interviews with successful applicant candidates & following up with client & applicant following interview; Processing selected candidates according to agreed procedures; Maintaining current knowledge of best hiring practices, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), & employment guidelines & laws; Supporting internal sales prospect inquiries by preparing contract administration. Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business/related field; Min. 2 yrs exp. in administrative business position; Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, written & verbal communication skills; Demonstrated excellence in time management & organizational skills; Ability to read & comprehend instructions, short correspondence, & memos; Ability to understand & follow detailed written or oral instructions; Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations; Some knowledge of principles & procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation, & benefits; Interviewing & listening skills in order to identify applicant skills for future placement purposes; Able to work well with limited supervision; Exercise discretion & independent judgment regarding client needs & business practices; Ability to work overtime as required; Possess knowledge of principles of good customer service & ability to apply these principles to current & future clients; Demonstrate positive customer service image; Knowledge of administrative procedures & systems such as word processing, managing files & records, & other office procedures & terminology; Ability to perform administrative tasks, maintain information, personnel files, & process paperwork; Ability to quickly gain basic understanding of technology utilized by Company, including current software system; Proficiency in computers, such as MS Office software; Ability to organize work & prioritize tasks in order to accomplish goals; Maintain flexibility & responsiveness to client & company needs & demonstrate attention-to-detail & follow-through; Knowledge of structure & content of English language; Ability to communicate clearly & effectively in verbal & written form; Able to quickly gain understanding of relationship of all company positions to each other & their impact on meeting company goals; Ability to work with others in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment, functioning as team member; Excellent telephone etiquette; Show initiative; Able to offer input regarding solutions to problems; Act with the highest integrity; Assist & contribute where needed; Tolerate stressful situations & work well with others.
