Sr. Estimator

Will be working with growing business managing all aspects of estimating & bidding process up until hand-off to Project Managers. Role will be based in San Luis Obispo County but will have projects all the way up to Northern CA. Bring your Civil Engineering skills to a great team & help play a part in building a successful business. Duties include: Creating detailed cost estimates using HCSS; Working directly with subcontractors & suppliers; Visiting project work sites to clarify scope of work; Participating in pre-proposal meetings; Evaluating projects constructability; Planning scope of work, crew size, schedules, materials, & subcontracting; Formulating “go” & “no go” decision process; Maintaining responsibility for bid documentation & submittal; Managing preliminary construction schedule; Preparing RFI’s; Working with stakeholders in developing strategies & competitive differences to secure project. Required qualifications: 5+ yrs exp. in heavy civil structures estimating; Underground Utility exp.; Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize tasks; Excellent verbal & technical writing skills; Ability to work independently, handling busy work schedule. Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred. Exp. with all civil work scopes preferred. Exp. with DOTs preferred. Wage: $80,000-$140,000 yr. DOE.
